
To help you with planning and assessing the hunting option I will summarize the offer which he got from the first place in northern Hungary:
1. You will need a mandatory Hungarian hunting license – 55 EUR. For this you will need to provide name, address, and passport-number.
2. Costs for accommodation will be up to 80 EUR per hunting day (also depends if you only take dinner or also lunch). You will need to consider two additional hunting days so you will at least have two evening hunts.
3. Transfers and guiding during hunt – about 15 EUR per hunt (30 EUR per day if you chose to also hunt in the morning).
4. The hunt will primarily be for younger pigs and boars to avoid shooting a sow with piglets. Costs for a yearling pig up to 20 kg (field dressed) – 80 EUR, from 20 to 50 kg – 180 EUR, sow without piglets 400 EUR. Boars according to tusk length:
12,- to 15,99 cm 500,-
16,- to 17,99 cm 750,-
18,- to 19,99 cm 1.000,-
20,- to 21,99 cm 1.500,-
22,- plus 1.750,-
5. Also available are in many places mouflon rams (trophy fee based on length of horns, a nice trophy with 70 cm lengths would be 1100 EUR).
6. Calves (red deer/fallow deer) are sometimes available (fee around 100 EUR).
